The government's reasons why opening of classes will not be moved (and
my response): - It's still rainy season in September (so sparing us from 3 extra
months of rain and flood is not good?)
- moving will only benefit the western provinces (so if it won't
benefit everyone, it's only fair to endanger everyone instead?)
- it is difficult to study during summer (And it's easier during
floods? Yeah, no classes eh)
- summer is when people have reunions, fiestas and lent ( So? Can't we
reschedule reunions? Ano ba ang mas mahalaga? According to the
government - Reunion and Fiesta!) The data that the government used was based on 67 years of weather
history. Dapat last ten years data lang ang gamitin. Global warming
was not even around during world war II. Pasig river was still clean
and flowing during those times. Using data from those times will
simply skew the results towards a tamer weather pattern. It is so difficult to change for the better when you are up against
the wrong traditions. People are so afraid of change that they would
rather stick to the status quo. Elected Officials, be brave! Stand up
for what is right. "The people who are crazy enough to think they can
